Before that, they were a health coach at HEALTHCARE 4 HER, a women’s health and wellness clinic that provided physician services and medical spa amenities. O. Atilla Onan was responsible for developing and managing a medically-supervised weight loss program called “A Lighter You.”
The program was successful, enrolling more than 200 patients who collectively lost over 5,400 pounds. The program also contributed approximately $15,000 in revenues to the clinic. Other measured results of the program included a reduction in body mass index and lowered medication dosages and/or complete reversal of co-morbidities such as diabetes, cholesterol, and blood pressure.
O. Atilla Onan was also responsible for SOAP note medical chart documentation and reporting of the program to the overseeing physician. O.'s duties included developing and delivering the program packet, which included dietary guidance and ”SMART” goal setting; identifying and understanding of environmental triggers and behavioral change management; designing communications including a weekly newsletter and motivational email messages; creating cross-marketing and promotional materials; and marketing the program to other physician offices.
In addition to their work with the weight loss program, O. Atilla Onan also helped increase revenues for the clinic by designing marketing plans for ancillary services, generating incremental revenues of greater than $5,000; publishing monthly newsletters; creating in-office promotional signage and materials; and placing print advertisements for ancillary services.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising, Apparel, & Textiles from the University of Kentucky, O. Atilla Onan pursued a Master of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas at Austin. Upon completing the program, O. Atilla Onan became an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Adult Gerontology CNS. O. also obtained a Master's in Public Health with a focus on Behavioral Aspects of Health from the University of Kentucky. O. Atilla Onan is certified by the Texas Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, as well as by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult-Gero CNS BC. O. is also certified by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
