Barbara Strickland serves as a Communications Officer and Editor for the Texas Department of Agriculture since September 2022, where responsibilities include drafting press releases, managing communications for the Family Land Heritage Program, and creating content for various platforms. Prior experience includes editing for the Texas Office of the Secretary of State and serving as Editor in Chief at Austinist, where Barbara successfully increased pageviews significantly. With a track record in proofreading, content management, and public engagement, Barbara has also contributed to organizations like the American Cancer Society and numerous local news platforms.
