John Schaffer is a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in ecology and risk assessment, currently serving as the Lead Office Scientist and Principal Ecologist/Risk Assessment Specialist at Tetra Tech since January 1991. In this role, John acts as a Northeast Ecological Risk Specialist and Subject Matter Expert, overseeing projects related to ecological restoration, wetland investigation, and NPDES permitting for energy projects. John has extensive expertise in conducting baseline ecological risk assessments and planning risk management for both freshwater and marine restoration initiatives. Educationally, John holds a Master of Arts in Biology/Ecology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from William Paterson University of New Jersey.
