Rhonda leads s diverse portfolio of cross-company technical groups whose mandate is to support safe, reliable, sustainable, and compliant operations; these groups include engineering, health and safety, indigenous relations, and environment. She is also responsible for evolving Tervita’s ESG (Environment. Social, Governance) strategy and integrating it into all aspects of its business by setting goals that align with Corporate Core Values, strengthen Corporate Culture and build business resilience.
Rhonda has nearly 30 years of industry experience and before joining Tervita, she spent 14 years at Newalta Corporation where she had roles with increasing scope and leadership responsibility. Prior to Newalta, she held various field-based operations and compliance positions at Waste Management Inc., Clean Harbors (formerly Laidlaw Environmental Services) and E.I.L Environmental Services. Rhonda received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta, is a registered professional engineer and completed the Occupational Health and Safety Certificate program from Ryerson University.
