Stephen Lo has worked in a variety of roles in the science and engineering industry. In 2022, they began their role as Senior Research Associate at Terray Therapeutics. From 2018 to present, they have worked as Research Associate III and Research Associate II at Zymergen. In 2018, they also acted as a Product Development Intern at Mattson: Innovation for the Food & Beverage Industry and a Research and Development Chemist (Temporary Position) at LOLIWARE. From 2016 to 2018, Stephen held the roles of Shift Lead and Bobarista at Boba Guys. At University of San Francisco, they worked as a Laboratory Teaching Assistant and a Graduate Student Researcher from 2016 to 2018. From 2012 to 2016, Stephen was an Undergraduate Researcher at University of California San Diego, a Teaching Assistant, a Community Service Officer, and a Student Sustainability Collective Intern. In 2015, they were a Waste to Energy Project Member at Engineers for a Sustainable World. Lastly, Stephen acted as an Engineering Intern at San Francisco Public Utilities Commission from 2009 to 2012.

Stephen Lo attended UC San Diego from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Environmental Systems - Chemistry, with a Humanities Minor. From 2016 to 2018, they attended the University of San Francisco, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Organic Chemistry.
