Olivia Osborn has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Olivia currently holds the position of Director of Biology at Terns Pharmaceuticals since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the University of California, San Diego - School of Medicine, where they started as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2009 and later became an Assistant Professor. In their role at the university, they led a research team focused on pathways regulating food intake behavior and collaborated on various research projects. Olivia was recognized for their exceptional contributions to university service and journal publications, which led to an accelerated promotion track. Before their time at the university, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute, where they conducted research on Type 2 Diabetes and identified novel hypothalamic regulators of core body temperature. Olivia's work experience also includes a brief stint as a student at Pfizer in 2002.

Olivia Osborn completed their education with a DPhil in Neuroscience & Genetics from the University of Oxford from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned an MSc in Bioinformatics from The University of Manchester in 2001-2002, and a BSc in Genetics with Industrial Experience at The Human Genome Mapping Project (Cambridge) from The University of Manchester from 1997 to 2001.
