Dionne Champion, PhD, serves as a STEAM Education Research Scientist at TERC since September 2023 and holds the position of Research Assistant Professor at the University of Florida since August 2019. As the Artistic Director and Founder of DancExcel: Champion Center for Arts Education since August 2004, Dionne oversees curriculum development and directs major educational performance events to promote dance-centered learning for children. Previous roles include Elementary Dance Teacher at Boston Renaissance Charter School and After School Program Leader at Philadelphia Free Library, alongside experience as a Development Engineer at Eastman Kodak Company. Dionne earned a PhD in Learning Sciences from Northwestern University and holds a Master of Education in Dance from Temple University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
