Brian Noland of Johnson City, Tenn., joined East Tennessee State University as its ninth president in 2012 after previously serving as the chancellor of the West Virginia Higher Education System. In 2018, he was elected to the board of the American Council on Education and also serves on the boards of a number of other educational and civic organizations, as well as an Institute of Higher Education fellow at the University of Georgia. His term expires May 18, 2024.
