Mee Lan Chook has extensive work experience in the field of laboratory management and research support. From 1985 to 1999, they worked as a Laboratory Technologist at the National University of Singapore, where they managed laboratories, demonstrated practical class for students, and conducted various research activities such as drug analysis and animal model testing. In 2002, they joined the Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, where they held various roles including Assistant Director of Facilities Services & Safety and Director of Facilities & Engineering Services. In these roles, they provided research support services to numerous researchers, managed safety systems and operations, and oversaw upgrading projects. Mee Lan also collaborated with the Ministry of Health of five countries on a program to build laboratory biorisk management capabilities and capacity. Mee Lan'smost recent position is as the Director of Facilities & Engineering Services at the Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory.
Mee Lan Chook holds a Master of Sciences in Management of Technology, which they obtained from the National University of Singapore from 1998 to 2000. Prior to their postgraduate degree, they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in System Analysis, specializing in Management Information Systems, General, at the Japan Singapore Institute of Software Technology (JSIST) from 1990 to 1992. Mee Lan Chook also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry & Biology, which they earned from the National University of Singapore from 1983 to 1985.
