Ian Cheong has a diverse work experience spanning over different fields. Ian started their career in 2000 as an intern at Agilent Technologies, Singapore. Ian then worked as a Law Pupil at EVERSHEDS HARRY ELIAS LLP before transitioning to the field of research. From 2006 to 2011, they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In 2010, they briefly worked as a Researcher (Forskare) at Uppsala University. In 2011, they joined the Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory as a Senior Principal Investigator and also became an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore. In the same year, they co-founded Entopsis, a company focused on developing diagnostic platforms for research and clinical use. Ian currently serves as the Chairman and Co-Founder of Pathnova Laboratories. Additionally, they have also provided scientific advice as a Scientific Adviser at Trebal Capital LLC.
Ian Cheong received their education as follows:
- From 1987 to 1990, they attended Raffles Institution.
- Ian then pursued a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore from 1995 to 1999.
- Following that, Ian pursued a B.Sc. degree at the National University of Singapore, which remained incomplete from 2000 to 2001.
- Finally, from 2001 to 2006, Ian earned their Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Medicine from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Additionally, Ian Cheong is certified as an Advocate and Solicitor in the Singapore Bar through the Singapore Legal Bar.
