John Flaherty is Vice President of Telesat’s Business Planning & Marketing Department which is responsible for global pricing and product decisions, financial analysis and marketing communications. Mr. Flaherty joined Telesat in 1987 and has since held positions of increasing responsibility within the company including the Director of South American Business Operations. Prior to his promotion to Vice President in 2013, Mr. Flaherty was Director of Business Planning and Marketing where he had a lead role in structuring business models for new satellite programs, M&A activities and other projects that have driven Telesat’s growth since its 2007 merger with Loral Skynet.
Mr. Flaherty holds a Masters of Business Administration from Queen’s University as well as a Bachelor of Arts, major in Economics from Carleton University.
