Rafael Canto Palancar is a seasoned telecommunications professional with extensive experience in network management and innovation. Currently serving as Transport & IP Network Manager at Telefónica since January 2017, Rafael coordinates Technical Exploration activities and leads the OpenFUSION initiative to transform transport network data planes. Additionally, Rafael contributes as a Technical Committee Member for the Telecom Infra Project since April 2021. Prior to these roles, Rafael was the Network Innovation and Virtualization Manager at Telefonica I+D, where pioneering data plane virtualization initiatives were implemented. Rafael's education includes a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia.
