Jessikka Aro is an accomplished communication professional with extensive experience in journalism and public relations. Currently serving as the Director of Communications and previously as Communications Manager at Tehy ry since October 2022, Aro has been instrumental in shaping effective communication strategies. Aro's prior role at Yle from July 2013 to October 2022 included positions as a Journalist and Investigative Reporter, where significant contributions involved training others to recognize propaganda and producing impactful investigative pieces through the Kioski project aimed at engaging a broader audience. Additional experience includes roles at the Union of Journalists in Finland, Journalisti-lehti, Fairtrade Finland, Helsingin Sanomat, and various regional publications, complemented by a strong academic background with a Master's degree in Social Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Tampere.
