Nikola Bešinović is a Professor and Head of the Chair of Railway Operations at Technische Universität Dresden, a position held since July 2022. Simultaneously, Nikola serves as the Acting Head of Chair of Rail and Public Urban Transport at Delft University of Technology since June 2012, focusing on research in Artificial Intelligence in Railways as the Principal Investigator for the RAILS project. Nikola's academic background includes a PhD in Transportation from Delft University of Technology and advanced degrees in Operations Research and Railroad Transportation from the University of Belgrade. Past roles include Visiting Researcher at Network Rail, Research Assistant in railway traffic organization, and involvement in organizing academic conferences. Currently, Nikola holds the position of Chair of the Railway Application Section at INFORMS.
