John Tanner is the Dunlevie Family Director of Women’s Water Polo at Stanford University. He has transformed his program into a nationally-ranked powerhouse that has produced seven NCAA Championships, five MPSF Championships, 12 Olympians and dozens of Senior National Team members. Under his leadership, Stanford is the only women’s water polo program in the nation to have competed in all 18 NCAA Championships since 2001. Stanford has finished in the top-three nationally each season of Tanner’s tenure. In recognition of his efforts, Coach Tanner was named ACWPC Coach of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017. He is also a former Stanford water polo All-American.
