Hessam Ziaei is a skilled Process Engineer currently with Enerkem since 2021, where responsibilities include the engineering of a $3 million scale-up project for converting syngas into hydrocarbons, leading teams in pilot plant test campaigns, and mentoring research scientists. Previously, from 2018 to 2020 at Enerkem, Hessam gained experience as a Junior Process Engineer, focusing on process modeling, operational troubleshooting, and the development of small-scale reactive distillation systems. Earlier, as a Chemical Research Scientist and part-time instructor at the Centre for Catalysis Research and Innovation at the University of Ottawa, Hessam led a research project on catalytic materials and developed adsorbents for CO2 capture. Hessam holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and an MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tehran.
