Maarten Sturm is an experienced legal professional specializing in commercial contract law. Currently serving as advocaat and senior legal counsel for Tata Steel in Europe since March 2017, Maarten provides legal expertise on various commercial contracts. Prior to this role, Maarten contributed as an editor on the editorial board of the leading Dutch journal on contract law, Overeenkomst in de Rechtspraktijk, from July 2015 to May 2022. Maarten gained substantial experience at Houthoff Buruma from July 2004 to January 2017, focusing on insurance, litigation, and arbitration related to commercial contracts, including joint ventures and M&A transactions. Maarten's educational background includes a degree in Corporate and Business Law from Grotius Academie (2018-2019), and studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Delft University of Technology, and Leiden University.
