Asmita Baruah is an accomplished engineer with experience in both industry and academia. Currently serving as Engineer 1 at Tapecon, Inc. since September 2021, Asmita has focused on continuous improvement processes, achieving a minimum 10% waste reduction and validating sustainable chemical changes that reduced viscosity by 44%. Previously, Asmita conducted research at the University of Oklahoma on removing ink from plastic to enhance mechanical and optical properties. With a background in leading teams, Asmita has mentored interns, devised innovative assistive technologies, and developed business models for various projects through experiences at the Ronnie K. Irani Center and internships at Sulzer and Fresh Air Waste Management Services. Asmita holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
