Hans Bitter currently serves as the Head of Computational Science and Data Strategy at Takeda, a position held since September 2024. Prior to this role, Hans held leadership positions including Senior Vice President and Head of Computational Sciences at MOMA Therapeutics, and Senior Vice President at bluebird bio, where responsibilities encompassed oversight of significant computational science initiatives. Additionally, Hans contributed as the Global Head of Oncology Bioinformatics at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, leading efforts in next generation diagnostics and biomarker identification. Earlier experience includes an impactful role at Roche focusing on bioinformatics analyses for inflammation and virology, as well as various roles in bioinformatics and cheminformatics across multiple organizations, culminating in a foundation as a research scientist. Educationally, Hans holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and an AB in Chemistry from Princeton University.
