Kelly Abbott

Kelly Abbott has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. In their most recent position at Tablecloth, they served as the Chief Technology Officer, leading a technology organization focused on impact investing. Kelly displayed a strong desire to learn from colleagues and customers while striving for continuous improvement. Kelly also served as a Board Member for Defy Ventures, contributing to their mission of helping incarcerated individuals develop business skills and thrive both inside and outside of prison.

Kelly was also a Board Member for Lifesharing, a Donate Life Organization, starting in November 2018. Additionally, Kelly held the role of Board Chair for Traveling Stories from January 2017 to November 2019, and served as a Board Member for CIE San Diego from October 2014 to March 2019.

In their professional journey, Kelly was a Member of Seed San Diego, where they provided advisory services and participated in investment deals from February 2016 to March 2018. Kelly held the position of CEO at Great Jones Street from August 2015 to March 2018. Previously, they served as the Managing Director, San Diego at Livefyre from November 2013 to February 2015.

Kelly's entrepreneurial experience includes being the CEO of Realtidbits from January 2011 to November 2013, before it was acquired by Livefyre. Kelly played a key role as Product Manager for Analytics, Curation, and Platform/API in the transitioning company. Prior to that, they served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for PWI: Partnerships with Industry from July 2005 to August 2013. In this position, they helped develop a strategic plan and provided guidance for new ventures.

Kelly Abbott attended UWC Atlantic College from 1992 to 1994, where they pursued English, Spanish, and Maths as part of their International Baccalaureate program. They then went on to attend The Ohio State University from 1994 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. During their time at The Ohio State University, they studied Photography and Creative Writing.
