Karen Ulrich DipWSET has a diverse range of work experience. From 2011 to the present, they have worked at T. Edward Wines as the Director of National Sales, where they focus on building and maintaining relationships with distributors nationwide and managing the company's relationship with Whole Foods. Before that, from 2001 to 2011, they worked as a Teaching Artist at Teachers & Writers Collaborative, where they created and presented curriculum to public school students, edited an anthology of students' work, and facilitated staff development workshops. Karen also has experience as a writer and photographer, working as a Director of Information & Communications at T. Edward Wines and as a freelance contributor for Edible East End. Additionally, they have worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College, teaching various English courses, and as a Memoir Writing Instructor at Gotham Writers' Workshop.
Karen Ulrich DipWSET has a diverse education history that spans different fields of study. In 1987 to 1991, they attended the School of Visual Arts where they earned their BFA in Photography. Continuing their education, they pursued an MFA in Creative Nonfiction at The New School from 1998 to 2000. In the field of wine education, they completed the Intermediate & Advanced Certificate program at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) from 2008 to 2009. This was followed by their attainment of a Diploma in Wines and Spirits from WSET, which they acquired between 2014 and 2016.
