María Esteban López has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. María is currently employed at Sysmex Inostics, where they hold the position of Head of Department. Prior to this, they had been working in the same company as a Scientist - Team Lead - Service Laboratory and Scientist - Service Laboratory.

Before joining Sysmex Inostics, María was a PHD Student at the Max-Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology from 2016 to 2020.

María also gained experience as an Intern at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2015. Additionally, María served as an Evaluator at ACCUEE from 2015 to 2016, and also held the position of Evaluator at ANECA and AQUIB.

María Esteban López began their education journey in 2010 when they enrolled at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. María pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and completed their studies in 2014. Following their undergraduate studies, María continued their education at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 2014 to 2015. Here, they earned a Master's degree in Microbiology.

Driven by their passion for microbiology, María pursued further academic excellence and enrolled at The Philipp University of Marburg in 2016. Over the course of four years, they diligently worked towards obtaining a PhD in Microbiology, culminating in their successful completion of the program in 2020.
