Dan Burns is an experienced leader in the cybersecurity sector, currently serving as the Investment Committee Chairman and Board Member at SYN Ventures since October 2020. Previously, Dan held the positions of CEO and Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer at Optiv Inc, where contributions helped shape a prominent cybersecurity solutions provider formed from the merger of Accuvant and FishNet Security. As a co-founder and CEO of Accuvant from January 2002 to August 2015, Dan led a research-driven information security firm known for its comprehensive solutions tailored for enterprise-class organizations. Dan holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and has studied at Iowa State University, Cabrillo College, and San Jose State University.
