Senior Director Of Information Technology at Symphony

Richard Ring's work experience begins in 2005 as a Data Warehouse and Strategic Reporting Intern at SHPS Inc. Richard then worked as a Technology Support Services Lab Aide and a Peer Activity Leader at Shoreline Community College from 2002 to 2005. In 2006, they became a Teaching and Learning Centre Tutor at Temple University Japan. From 2007 to 2011, Richard worked at SunGard, first as a Technical Analyst, then as a Technical Account Manager, and later as a Client Services Executive, managing global and APAC accounts.

In 2011, they joined Barclays as a Futures FIX Onboarding specialist, providing 2nd level support and onboarding new customers to the brokerage arm of the business. Richard then moved to Ullink, now part of Itiviti, in 2012, where they served as the Global Head of ULNET and later as the Global Director of NYFIX Client Services and Global Operations Director of FIX Services.

Since 2016, Richard has been working at Symphony, starting as the Head of Solution Architecture for EMEA & APAC, where they managed technical onboarding and integrations of partner applications. Richard then became the Global Head of Solution Architecture, where they extended coverage to over 300+ customers without significantly increasing the team headcount. Currently, Richard holds the role of Senior Director of Solution Architecture at Symphony. Richard has also developed and brought to production a JIRA workflow chatbot using Symphony's Restful APIs to assist in team management.

Richard Ring has a diverse educational background. Richard began their education journey by earning an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Data Modeling/Warehousing and Database Administration from Shoreline Community College, which they completed between 2002 and 2005.

Following this, Richard pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from Temple University Japan, which they attained in 2007 after studying for a year.

Richard further expanded their knowledge and skills by pursuing an Executive Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Imperial College London. Richard completed this program between 2010 and 2012.

To complement their education, Richard obtained several certifications. In 2007, they achieved the GL Win Certification from SunGard (now part of FIS). Continuing their professional growth, in 2010 Richard acquired the PRINCE2 Foundation Examination and PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner certifications from the APM Group.

More recently, in August 2022, Richard obtained the Symphony Certified Associate Developer certification from Symphony. These certifications demonstrate their commitment to continuous learning and professional development throughout their career.
