Laura Elvin has a diverse work experience in the field of news and journalism. Laura started their career as a Reporter at Leicester Mercury in June 2010 and worked there until May 2013. Following this, they joined SWNS as a Senior Reporter in May 2013 and held this role until January 2017. Laura then became a News Editor at SWNS from January 2017 to December 2021. Simultaneously, in September 2018, they also took on the position of Head of Content Discovery - News at SWNS until December 2021. In addition to their time at SWNS, they also worked at Talk to the Press as the Head of News from September 2018 to December 2021. Most recently, in December 2021, they were promoted to the role of Head of News at SWNS.
Laura Elvin obtained a PgDip in Journalism Innovation and Leadership from the University of Central Lancashire in the academic year 2022-2023. Prior to that, they completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at De Montfort University from 2009 to 2010. In 2006-2009, Laura earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Leicester. Laura completed their secondary education at Berwick High School in 2005.
