Bastian Schwark has a diverse and extensive work experience. Bastian began their career in 2004 with an internship at UBS AG in Switzerland. In 2005, they completed another internship at Schneider Electric Industries SAS in France. From 2007 to 2014, they worked as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company. In 2014, they joined Swissgrid AG as the Head of Strategy & Business Development, before transitioning to become the Head of TSO Markets in 2016, and subsequently, the Head of Market Operations in 2017. Bastian also served as a Board Member at INVENTRIX Energy Ventures Network and Exnaton. Currently, they hold the position of Fachbereichsleiter Energie at Wirtschaftliche Landesversorgung WL, starting in 2022.

Bastian Schwark pursued their education in the field of management and technology. Bastian obtained a PhD in Management of Technology from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2006 to 2011. Prior to their PhD, they completed a Diploma in Génie Industriel from Grenoble INP - UGA, spanning from 2004 to 2006. Additionally, they earned another Diploma in Industrial Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) between 2000 and 2006.
