Guus Dekkers has been a member of the Swisscom Board of Directors since March 2021. He has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Radboud University, Nijmegen and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management. His career began in 1990 at Volkswagen Ltd., where he worked in various roles and countries. In 2002 he moved to Johnson Controls Automotive and led the Information Technology Europe & International unit. From 2005 to 2007 he was Chief Information Officer and Vice Chairman at Siemens VDO Automotive Ltd. in Germany, before moving to the Airbus Group in 2008. He spent 8 years there as Chief Information Officer and was instrumental in driving forward extensive technological transformations. Since April 2018 Guus Dekkers has been Chief Technology Officer at the Tesco retail chain. He is also a member of the Advisory Board at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology and the National Research Centre for Applied Cybersecurity in Darmstadt.
