Rangarajan Rajagopalan is a seasoned professional in the field of risk analysis and underwriting, currently serving as a Senior Property Treaty Underwriter and Property Treaty Manager at Swiss Re since September 2011. With expertise in underwriting analysis for major Asian markets like India and Japan, Rangarajan leads a team focusing on portfolio deep dives, profitability analysis, and forward-looking assessments. Previously, Rangarajan worked as a Cat Modeler, facilitating natural catastrophe costing and ensuring model results consistency, and as a Senior Risk Analyst at RMS, reporting on catastrophe model losses and optimizing data quality metrics for primary insurance brokers. Early experience includes a research position at Carnegie Mellon University, developing a spatial analysis framework for water distribution networks, and working as a Risk Analyst at RMSI, where insights into catastrophe risk management were gained. Rangarajan holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering.
