Carsten Henkel currently serves as the Head of Underwriting for Germany and Austria at Swiss Re, a position held since September 2020. Prior to this role, Carsten was the Chief Underwriter at HDI Lebensversicherung AG from September 2012 to September 2020, where additional responsibilities included serving as the Head of New Business from 2016. Previous experience includes a position as MLP Berater at MLP Finanzberatung SE from April 2011 to August 2012, and various roles at Heidelberger Lebensversicherung/Lloyds Banking Group from January 1997 to March 2011, including Customer Service Manager and Chief Underwriter for Clerical Medical in Maastricht. Carsten also held the title of Chief Underwriter at Clerical Medical Finance PLC between March 2005 and November 2008 while simultaneously managing Heidelberger Leben's department. Experience in the insurance sector dates back to the initial tenure as Chief Underwriter at MLP Finanzberatung SE from January 1997 to December 2004.
