John Dietler

John Dietler has extensive work experience in the field of environmental consulting and archaeology. John currently serves as the Vice President for Southern California and Pacific Islands at SWCA Environmental Consultants, where they provide strategic direction and leadership for the region's operations. Prior to this role, they held the position of Southern California Principal at the same company.

Between 2010 and 2017, John Dietler worked as the Director for California and Pacific Islands Cultural and Paleontological Resources at SWCA Environmental Consultants. Before that, they served as an Archaeology Team Lead and a Principal Investigator at the company.

John Dietler's work history also includes roles as an Archaeologist at EDAW, Laguna Mountain Environmental, Chambers Group, Inc., Tierra Environmental, and Mooney and Associates.

Throughout their career, John Dietler has demonstrated expertise in environmental science, staff management, client development, and maintaining high-quality scientific and technical standards.

John Dietler has an extensive education history in the field of Anthropology. John obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from The George Washington University in 1996. John continued their education at UCLA, where they earned their Master of Arts degree in Anthropology in 2003. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Anthropology at UCLA, completing their doctoral studies in 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Dietler also holds several certifications related to their field of study. John became a Registered Professional Archaeologist in 2003 through the Register of Professional Archaeologists. In 2008, they obtained the certification of Certified Archaeological Consultant from the County of Riverside. John later became a Principal Investigator for California and Nevada through the Bureau of Land Management in 2009. In 2011, they acquired the title of Certified Archaeologist from the County of Orange.

It is evident that Dietler has a strong background in Anthropology, supported by their educational achievements and various certifications.
