Andrew B. currently serves as the Metabolic Surgery Lead at Swansea University Medicine, Health and Life Science and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer. In addition, Andrew B. is a Consultant Bariatric and Upper GI Surgeon at Swansea Bay University Health Board and a PhD student in Obesity Surgery at the University of Gothenburg. Andrew B. has a robust background in surgical leadership, having held roles such as Director and Trustee of the Association of Surgeons in Training, where responsibilities included representing over 2200 members and managing various committees. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) focusing on Applied Physiology in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and an MB BCh in Medicine, both obtained from Cardiff University. Andrew B. also possesses extensive experience within the NHS, progressing through various roles culminating in a Specialty Registrar in General Surgery.
