Joseph Julca Mendoza is a skilled communicator and educator with a strong background in marine biology and science communication. Currently serving as a scientific communicator at Sustainable Ocean Alliance and a scientific disseminator for the Mediterranean shark and ray conservation initiative, Joseph also contributes as a collaborative writer for the environmental platform Endémico. Previous roles include leadership positions within Sustainable Ocean Alliance in Spain and Chile, as well as teaching at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Joseph holds a Master’s degree in History of Science and Science Communication from the University of Valencia and a degree in Marine Biology from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Recent experiences also include environmental communication work with Ayuda en Acción and organizing scientific congresses.
