Annabel Yau is a consultant at Surgo Health, a technology company focused on socio-behavioral analytics to enhance health equity, starting in February 2024. Yau's prior experience includes roles at Kx Advisors as an Associate Consultant, Senior Associate Consultant, and Consultant from June 2021 to February 2024. Yau worked as a Bioengineering Intern at a stealth mode startup, developing a subvocal speech recognition prototype, and as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Maharbiz Lab at UC Berkeley, where efforts focused on optimizing "Neural Dust" for neural activity recording. Other experiences encompass an R&D Internship at BD, leadership roles with the Society of Women Engineers, and participation in the BlueStamp Engineering Program, where Yau developed a robotic hand. A background in fundraising for underprivileged girls is evident through leadership in GirlVentures, alongside a competitive bioengineering internship at Stanford University School of Medicine. Yau holds a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, with minors in Human Rights and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
