Junaid Akhtar has a diverse range of work experience in various engineering roles. Junaid began their career as a Summer Intern at the University of Manchester, where they assisted doctoral students in composite manufacturing and testing. Junaid then worked as a President at the American Society for Mechanical Engineers, NUST [EME] Student Chapter, where they led a student club and organized extracurricular activities.
Junaid later worked as an Engineering Trainee and Junior Design Engineer at AEDesign (pvt) Ltd, where they gained experience in CAD, FEA, and product development. Junaid was also involved in supervising production and quality control for solar energy projects.
Junaid then served as a Design Engineer at Premier Composite Technologies, Dubai, leading a team for Haram Expansion Projects in Mecca. Junaid contributed to the development of composite and metal components for the project.
Junaid's experience at Aalto University includes roles as a Research Assistant and Research and Development Engineer. Junaid contributed to the development of surgical devices, conducted experiments related to failure mechanisms of 3D printed parts, and was involved in CAD and prototyping.
Currently, they are working at Surgify Medical Oy as an Engineering Design Manager, responsible for design planning and management, process validation, and risk management. Junaid oversees design processes, process validations, and verification and validation for medical devices.

Junaid Akhtar completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) between the years 2008 to 2012. Junaid then pursued a Master of Science (Technology) in Mechanical Engineering from Aalto University from 2015 to 2017. In 2013, they obtained the certification of Registered Engineer from the Pakistan Engineering Council. Junaid is currently enrolled in an Executive MBA program at the Quantic School of Business and Technology, starting in 2022 and expected to finish in 2023.
