Fred Nichols, DO, FACOS, FACS, serves as the Regional Medical Director at Surgical Affiliates Management Group, Inc. since January 2019, overseeing Urology, vascular surgery, general surgery, and Trauma/Acute care surgery programs. In addition, Fred Nichols is a Trauma Surgeon at McLaren Oakland and Chair of the Department of Surgery at Henry Ford Bi-County Hospital, roles held since February 2020 and June 2006 respectively. Previous positions include Surgeon and Practice Manager at Macomb Surgical Specialists, PLC, Chief of Surgery and Anesthesia at St John River District Hospital, and Medical Director at St John Macomb Center for Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine. Fred Nichols contributed as a Robotic Surgery Proctor for Intuitive Surgical from May 2014 to May 2022. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of New England COM and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Maine, along with an Associate of Arts in Photography from Simons Rock of Bard University.
