Jembere Berhanu, Ph.D., serves as the Regional Program Manager at Felm (Suomen Lähetysseura) since July 2022. Prior to this role, Jembere worked as a Social Care Worker for the City of Helsinki from October 2003 to April 2022, where responsibilities included counseling at refugee and detention centers and coordinating meetings with various professionals. Jembere's experience also includes a position as a Project Planner at the University of Eastern Finland, focusing on the development of a web-based course to enhance cultural competence in health care, and working as an Assistant Researcher at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, conducting literature reviews on aging motherhood. Jembere holds a Ph.D. in Public Health from the University of Eastern Finland and possesses multiple degrees in health sciences and social work.
