David Brodsky

Chief Underwriting Officer at SUNZ Insurance

David Brodsky has extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on underwriting and leadership roles. David is currently the Chief Underwriting Officer at SUNZ Insurance Solutions since 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Vice President; Specialty at Houston International Insurance Group (HIIG) from 2018 to 2020. At HIIG, they had national responsibility for the Workers Compensation profit center and provided technical leadership for the line of business.

Before joining HIIG, Brodsky worked at QBE North America as the Senior Vice President; Casualty Chief Underwriting Officer from 2014 to 2016. In this role, they implemented a strategy for the $700m Casualty business and successfully reduced the Casualty loss ratio by 5 points over 2 years.

From 2009 to 2014, Brodsky was the Managing Vice President at Tower Group Companies. David was responsible for National MGA Programs and Excess and Surplus Lines across all P&C lines of business. David also launched an Alternative Risk facility for Program agents and a Professional liability program for Lawyers.

Prior to their time at Tower Group Companies, Brodsky worked at ACE Group as a Senior Vice President. David launched and led the primary casualty risk management national profit center and achieved a significant first-year gross written premium.

Brodsky began their insurance career at Reliance National in 1988, where they held the position of First Vice President until 1999.

Throughout their career, Brodsky has demonstrated expertise in underwriting, strategic planning, profitability improvement, and team management.

David Brodsky attended St. Johns University from 1976 to 1980, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a focus on Business/Insurance. Prior to that, they studied at Pace University - Lubin School of Business from 1980 to 1981 and Northeastern University from 1981 to 1982, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for those two institutions.
