Venessa Powell, BSC (MT) A.S. (MLT), currently serves as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine since November 2021. Prior experience includes an internship at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center from January 2021 to May 2021 and an internship at Jacobi Medical Center from January 2011 to September 2011. Venessa Powell has extensive skills in microbiology techniques, including plating, identification of microorganisms, and the performance of serological procedures, as well as experience with various laboratory systems and equipment such as the Advia Centaur System and Beckman Coulter. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology from York College of the City University of New York, a Nursing Assistant certificate from New York Institutes of Medical Careers, and an Associate's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technician from CUNY Bronx Community College.
