Max Ostrove's work experience begins in 2015 as a Director at Leopard USA, where they worked until 2019. In 2019, they became a Senior Games Producer at NBCUniversal Media, LLC for a few months. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Supervising Producer at All3Media America and then at Glassman Media. In 2020, they worked as a Supervising Producer at SUPER DELICIOUS and then as a Supervising Challenge Producer at Endemol Shine Group. Max also founded their own company, Studiobox, in 2020, where they currently serve as the Co-Founder and CEO. In 2021, they worked as a Co-Executive Producer at A. Smith & Co. Productions. In 2022, they were a Fellow at On Deck. Lastly, they are also a Partner at Tyee Partners LLC since 2016.

Max Ostrove attended Torrey Pines High School, although the specific duration is unknown. After graduating from high school, they enrolled at Northwestern University in 2004 and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Radio/TV/Film & History in 2008. During their undergraduate studies, Max also spent a year abroad at the University of Otago in 2006-2007, focusing on Global Media. In 2002, they attended the National Outdoor Leadership School for a short period to study Expedition Leadership. Additionally, Max holds a certification as a Wilderness First Responder from the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute.
