Ben Kanter, MD, has extensive experience in healthcare technology and informatics, serving as CMIO at Vocera Communications from January 2017 to June 2022 and at Extension Healthcare for a brief period in 2016. Notably, Ben held the position of Chief Medical Officer at Sotera Wireless, Inc. from September 2014 to September 2016 and was Chief Medical Information Officer at Palomar Health from July 2006 to September 2014, where major electronic health record initiatives were spearheaded. Additionally, Ben has contributed as an unpaid advisor at Spyglass Consulting and has participated in advisory roles with various healthcare organizations, including Cisco Systems and Nuance Communications. Education includes an MD from Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine, completed in 1985, with earlier studies at the University of Michigan. Currently, Ben is retired from Stryker, having joined in June 2022, with ongoing involvement in the development of mHealth platforms as an independent consultant.
