Marcia Emmer, PhD, currently serves as Chief Information Officer at Streekziekenhuis Koningin Beatrix since May 2018, responsible for leading the care technology, information, automation, and staff teams while managing the entire IT environment and medical equipment. Emmer has a strong background in medical technology, having worked as a medical physicist at Rijnstate from October 2014 to April 2018, where expertise included safe application of medical technology and procurement processes. Previous positions include clinical physicist training at Ziekenhuisgroep Twente, postdoctoral researcher at KNAW and Erasmus MC focusing on intravascular ultrasound systems, and researcher during doctoral studies on echography contrast agents in collaboration with UT Enschede. Academic credentials include a PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology.
