Anthony Chua has held a variety of roles since 2006. From 2006 to 2008, they were a Research Assistant at Protez Pharmaceuticals Inc., where they conducted characterization studies on a proprietary broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic candidate. Anthony was also a Director of Operations at Singapore Philadelphia Innovators Network (SPiN) during this period. From 2008 to 2009, they were a Research Collaborator at Laboratoire Retrovirus et Pathologie Comparee, Universite Claude Bernard Lyon 1 - MERLION Programme, where they were involved in scientific development and filing of a patent for a virus-like particle platform for generation of recombinant vaccines. During this time, they were also a Research Collaborator at Fujitsu Laboratories Singapore / Adaptamer Solutions Pte Ltd, where they proposed and helped establish a S$1 million collaboration to develop flavivirus-specific aptamers for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Additionally, they were a Research Collaborator at Austrianova Singapore (SGAUSTRIA) Pte Ltd, where they were the main project driver for proof-of-concept for delivery of therapeutic antibodies against West Nile Virus infections using the company's proprietary Cell-in-a-Box live cell encapsulation technology. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Sci-Tech Commercializer - Science Team at INSEAD, where they worked with MBA students to co-develop a business plan and spin off a company based on proprietary technologies developed in the laboratory. During this time, they were also an Invited Reviewer for Scientific Publication at BMC Infectious Diseases. From 2015 to 2021, they were Co-Founder and CEO at StratifiCare Pte. Ltd., where they strategized and spearheaded fundraising rounds and grant applications, established synergistic partnerships with key opinion leaders, clinicians, and industry players, and oversaw in-house in vitro diagnostic (IVD) development in compliance with ISO 13485 quality management system. Additionally, since 2021, they have been a Mentor (Medtech) at Lean LaunchPad Singapore.
Anthony Chua has a long and impressive educational history. Anthony began their studies in 1996 at Anglican High School, where they earned their GCE "O" Levels. Anthony then attended Temasek Junior College from 2000 to 2001, earning their GCE 'A' Levels. In 2004, they began their undergraduate studies at the National University of Singapore, where they earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours (First Class) in Life Sciences concentrating in Molecular and Cell Biology in 2008. From 2006 to 2007, they attended University of Pennsylvania's NOC BioValley, Batch 8 and NUS Overseas Colleges. In 2009, they began a Doctorate of Philosophy in Virology at NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering (NGS), which they completed in 2014. In 2015, they completed the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative in Bioethics/Medical Ethics at the University of Miami.
