Peter Restler is the former Chairman and Founding Partner of CAI, a private equity firm established in 1989 to invest in North America with a particular focus on Canada. Peter's entire business career has been involved with Canadian-US business, initially as an advisor, and since the formation of CAI, as an investor. He has previously served as a board member of The Corix Group, MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., Livingston International Inc., and Zenith Laboratories Inc. Peter was also formerly US Chairman of the North American Committee from 1993 until 1998 and until recently, a Director of the American Friends of the National Gallery of Art. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Brooklyn, NY, with his Canadian wife, Susan Goldbloom Restler, and has attended the Stratford Festival virtually every year since 1972. Peter and Susan have two grown children, Victoria and Lincoln, and two grandchildren. He joined the Stratford Festival's Board in March 2018 and serves on the Education & Archives and Finance & Audit committees. Peter is also a director on the Stratford Festival Endowment Foundation Board.
