Carol Stephenson

Board Member at Stratford Festival

Carol Stephenson, O.C. served as Dean of the Ivey Business School at Western University from 2003 to 2013. Before joining Ivey, she spent many years in the Canadian telecom and technology industries. As a widely respected CEO of Lucent Technologies Canada Inc. and Stentor Resource Centre Inc. and an executive at Bell Canada, she has more than 30 years of progressive experience in marketing, operations, technology development and regulatory affairs. She is a corporate director, currently serving on the boards of Maple Leaf Foods, General Motors Company, and Mattamy Asset Management. She has served on Intact Financial Services Inc., several government advisory committees, and on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Olympic Games Organizing Committee. She is currently on Western University's Board of Governors. She has earned significant recognition for her community work and industry involvement over the years, including induction into Canada's Telecommunications Hall of Fame, London's Business Hall of Fame, Women of Influence's Top 25 Women of Influence and the National Post's 50 Most Powerful Women. In 2009 she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada, and in 2012 received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award. Ms Stephenson joined the Festival's Board of Governors in March 2014. She was appointed Vice-Chair in March 2018 and March 2019 and elected Chair in March 2020 and March 2021. As of March 2022, she will serve on the Governance Committee as Past Chair and take on the role of Chancellor of the Senate for two years. She has chaired the Governance and Advancement committees and served on all of the board committees as well as on the TPT Campaign Steering and the TPT Building committees.
