Layne Burd has over 25 years of work experience in various technology companies. They started their career at Take-Two Interactive Software in 1995 as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. In 2000, they joined Relex Software Corporation as a Quality Assurance Manager. In the same year, they also started working at PTC, Inc. as a Senior Consulting Engineer. They held this position until 2015 when they joined Strategic Technical Services LLC as a Senior Application Engineer. Currently, Layne Burd is working as an Instructor, specializing in Computer Engineering Technology, at Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center since 2020.

Layne Burd completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. Presently, Layne is pursuing a Vocational Education Teacher Certification at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, with studies commencing in 2021.
