Greg Ushomirsky

Chief Scientist at STR

Greg Ushomirsky is an experienced professional with a diverse background in scientific research and technical leadership. Greg started their career as a Lee A. Dubridge Prize Postdoctoral Fellow at Caltech, where they conducted independent research on thermonuclear instabilities on accreting neutron stars and fluid dynamics of their atmospheres and cores. Greg then joined MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where they held various technical leadership roles in radar tracking, imaging, space payload development, identification of space objects, and special programs. During this time, they conceived and led the development of a multistatic radar system for 3D imaging and precise metric observations of satellites. Ushomirsky also served as an Assistant Group Leader, where they led a team responsible for the development of advanced sensors and concepts for space surveillance and control. Greg worked with a variety of sponsors, including DARPA, AFSPC, SMC, and NASA. Currently, they are working as Chief Scientist at Systems & Technology Research.

Greg Ushomirsky completed their education from 1994 to 1999 at the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained a PhD in Astrophysics.
