Chief Marketing Officer at Storytel

Oleg Nesterenko has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Oleg is currently the Chief Marketing Officer at Storytel since May 2023. Prior to that, they co-founded Hootko in 2018, where they provided business consulting services for media streaming companies, focusing on marketing strategy and business development. Oleg also held the position of Chief Growth Officer at STARZPLAY from December 2021 to May 2023, overseeing the B2C growth of the direct-to-consumer business in the MENA region.

Before joining STARZPLAY, Oleg worked as the Marketing Director at Shahid from November 2018 to December 2021. During their tenure, they successfully transformed Shahid into a world-class premium video streaming service and market leader in the MENA region. Oleg's responsibilities included developing a new business strategy, building and managing a marketing team, and implementing brand marketing initiatives.

Prior to Shahid, Oleg held the position of Director of Marketing, Digital at the Middle East Broadcasting Center from November 2018 to November 2021. Oleg was responsible for overseeing the marketing activities in the digital division of the company.

Oleg's earlier work experience includes serving as the CEO at Vidmind, where they developed and implemented a cloud platform and applications for TV operators. Oleg also worked as the Chief Product Officer at MEGOGO, where they were responsible for business development and product rollout strategy for the OTT service in CIS countries.

Oleg's career also includes positions at Volia as the Head of Products Development & Marketing and Senior Marketing Manager, where they were involved in the implementation, marketing, and management of traditional and online products and services.

Oleg started their career at Kyivstar GSM, where they held various roles, including Product Development & Product Marketing Manager, Product Manager for Internet and data transmission services, and Leading Specialist of Services Integration and Adaptation.

Oleg began their professional journey at ITC as the Chief of the Department of New Technologies, Services and Carrier Relations, where they collaborated with national operators and content providers, negotiated intercarrier fee rates, and implemented primary and value-added services.

Oleg Nesterenko has a diverse education history. In 1989, they completed their primary education at Kyiv high school â„–267. Following this, from 1999 to 2005, they attended the National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute' and obtained a Bachelor's degree specializing in telecommunication systems from the Institute of telecommunication systems.

In 2008, Oleg attended the Academy of Business Ernst & Young as a listener and studied Finance for Non-Financial Managers I and II. Later, in 2014, they pursued further education in the field of marketing and completed the Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing offered by CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

In 2021, Oleg attended INSEAD and completed a program on Leading Digital Marketing Strategy through Executive Education. Oleg also obtained a certificate in the same field through the Leading Digital Marketing Strategy Virtual Programme offered by INSEAD Executive Education.

Additionally, Oleg has obtained additional certifications, such as the EF Standardized English Test: Advanced (EFSET 99/100) from EF Education First in September 2017.
