Lou DeCamp has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, spanning over several decades. Lou most recently served as the Director of Application Engineering at Stony Brook Medicine since January 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Stony Brook University Hospital for 15 years, where they held the position of Director of Clinical Information Systems. In this role, Lou provided support and oversight for various aspects of the hospital's electronic medical records functionality. Lou also worked as a Software Development Director at Eclipsys Corporation for four years, leading teams in the development and quality assurance of enterprise resource planning software. Earlier in their career, Lou held several positions at Stony Brook University Hospital, including Assistant Director of Systems Development, Director of Medical/Surgical Systems, and Project Leader. Before joining Stony Brook, they worked as an Executive Director/Senior Systems Consultant at Superior Consultant Company, Inc., where they managed teams and worked on the installation and customization of hospital-based information systems. Lou began their career as a Programmer/Analyst at Genovese Drug Stores, where they were responsible for designing and coding pharmacy and healthcare applications.
Lou DeCamp earned an Associate's degree in Data Processing from Suffolk County Community College from 1979 to 1982. Lou then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems at SUNY Empire State College from 1990 to 1993. Finally, they obtained a Master of Science in Technological Systems Management from Stony Brook University from 1994 to 1996.
