Lauren Maloney serves as the Police Surgeon and Medical Director at Stony Brook University Police Department since January 2022. In addition, Lauren holds multiple roles at Stony Brook Medicine, including Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medicine Physician. Lauren is involved with Stony Brook University Paramedic Program and Stony Brook University Hospital Emergency Medical Services as Medical Director and Associate Medical Director, respectively. Furthermore, Lauren contributes as faculty at the Institute for Engineering-Driven Medicine and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Lauren’s extensive experience in emergency services includes previous positions as a paramedic in various fire districts and health systems. Educational qualifications include an M.D. from Stony Brook University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering.
