Joel Humowiecki has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Joel'smost recent position was as a Brand Manager - Data & Digital at Stone Ward, starting in June 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine for 10 years as a Research Data Manager from July 2008 to June 2018.
Before their tenure at the university, Joel worked at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for various roles. From March 2005 to September 2007, they served as an IT Quality Assurance Specialist, where they were responsible for verification and validation at each stage of the software development life cycle. Joel interacted with developers, business analysts, and clients to assess software functions and scope. Additionally, they conducted functional, integration, interface, regression, and acceptance testing.
Starting in July 2000 until February 2005, Joel held the role of Environmental Surveillance Coordinator at the same department. In this position, they worked on the control of West Nile virus and other arthropod-borne diseases, coordinating the field response to mosquito habitats throughout New York City. Joel also designed and developed databases, worked with vendors on application development and beta-testing, developed data flow protocols, and provided analysis and reporting of mosquito surveillance activities. As part of their responsibilities, they also created GIS maps and developed a monitoring system using various analytic tools.
Lastly, Joel's earliest work experience was as a Staff Analyst at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene from June 1998 to July 2000. In this role, they designed and maintained relational databases to track mobile vendors and introduced a geographic tracking system for field inspector assignments.
Joel Humowiecki attended Adelphi University, where they studied American Studies. Joel completed their education at the university in 2008.
